Barkly Downs

Barkly Downs, one of Australia’s most expansive cattle properties, stretches over an incredible 2.3 million acres. The property’s varied terrain, rich in Mitchell and Flinders grasses and interlaced with river and creek channels, provides an ideal environment for the breeding and fattening of beef cattle.

Previously under the ownership of Acton Land and Cattle Company, Moray Downs was recently sold to a coal company. Despite the change in ownership, the property continues to serve as a thriving cattle farm, thanks to a leaseback agreement with the company. This arrangement ensures that the rich tradition of cattle farming continues on this vast and fertile land.

Iffley Station has a rich history dating back to 1884 when it was purchased by D.F. Markay. Since then, it has been developed over time and has always served as a cattle farm.
