Welcome to Acton Super Beef

We produce high-quality beef beyond belief

The company is the creation of the fourth-generation descendants of William and Eliza Jane Acton, who emigrated from Ireland in the early 1860s. They purchased a parcel of 1,000 acres of prime grazing land on the edge of Rockhampton for 25 cents per acre. From these humble beginnings nearly a century and a half ago, the Acton Land & Cattle Company have expanded their land holdings to approximately 3.87 million acres. Partners Graeme and Evan Acton provide active, hands-on management of the company’s diverse day-to-day operations. A modest holding of Angus cattle has grown to a herd of approximately 180,000 head of top-quality Santa Gertrudis, Brahman, Charolais and Angus cross cattle. The meticulous crossing of these breeds and the particular attention paid to conformity and quality has resulted in the superiority of Acton Super Beef produced today.

Australian Wagyu

For lovers of beef, the name; Australian Wagyu may seem out of place with your popular cattle beef types such as the Angus, Brahman, Herefordshire or Gelbvieh beef types which are the five most popular brands of beef cattle. The word Wagyu is of Japanese extraction, and it is used to describe all Japanese beef cattle. Etymologically speaking, the word is made up of two syllables, where Wa means Japanese and gyu refers to cows.

Cattle

The Beef Expo is a triennial event that showcases the best of the beef and cattle industry in Australia. There are competitions of different categories for beef and cattle products.

Properties

When it comes to properties where we breed our cattle, there are several of them all around Australia, which offers us the opportunity to raise our cattle in the best conditions both in terms of weather and climate as well as the general environment.

Beef Tours

One of the things on offer at the Beef Expo this year is the beef tours which is one of the activities that you should involve yourself in a while at the festival. This year, Quadrant Australia is organising the tours. This is not its first time; in fact, it has served as the official tour operator for every Beef Expo since the event started in 1988.
